Using AudioPortfolios.com

Click here to go to the audioportfolios.com site

Enter the username, password, and Class ID your teacher gave you.
[You can also test your set up as a guest, by using username guest, password guest and class ID # 34]

You might see a Flash dialogue box asking for permission to access your computer's microphone. Click on the "Allow" button and close the dialog box.

It is important to make sure your microphone is working. Try speaking into it, and you should notice that the grey bar above "Microphone level" moves to the right as you speak. If the grey bar does not move solidly to the right, indicating a sufficient recording volume, see below.

Click on the "New Recording" link (bottom left) to make a new file

You will see "New Recording" appear in the "My Recordings" list

Click on the recording you wish to access. You can then record and play back by clicking on the control buttons. When you stop recording, you should see the total time of your recording to the right of the control buttons.

The red "X" is to delete the recording.

Once you are satisfied with the recording, give your recording a useful title (e.g. "Le pont Mirabeau") and click on the "Save changes" button.

Finally, click on the "CAN NOT" link to change its status to "CAN" so that your teacher can access it.
